Llewellin Puppies ready for homes by the end of March
Mood:  celebratory
Jenny had her puppies last night.  Four males and three females.  Everyone is doing fine so far.

Pups should be ready for new homes by the end of March.

Contact me to reserve your puppy!

Failure to Thrive:  Unfortunately some of these pups were not ready for their new world.  We lost one pup during their first night with Mom and two more in following days.  Only 1 female and 3 males survive at this point.

Hi Dave, Got your email the other day but we've been soooo busy... had a great May and hoping to match it in June. Wanted to reply and let you know all is well with Tuck. I attached some photos. 2 were taken out at Sharon Potters earlier this spring with a pigeon upwind. Once he saw it he wanted to go get it pretty bad! We actually went there again last week but I didn't get any pics. she hid a bird in some long grass which was nice because as we approached it, you could absolutely tell when he got scent of it. I wish i did have pictures. A lot of the field had wildflowers mixed in and he looked so cute bounding through it. He's also very well behaved on the pontoon. Hasn't jumped off it yet (we swim out in the middle of the lake) but swam on shore a TON the other day. He is a great addition to our family. He's mellow and nice but not clingy. He travels well. He can climb the ladder on our swingset and has had the girls push him down the slide. He chases bugs, flies, moths squirrels, chippies and actually caught and killed a robin! The kids love him and that was REALLY important for us when we were looking for a dog. He's not always perfect but I don't think any of us could imagine life around here without him. In fact, I just about had to beat up one of my brothers (a lab lover)last weekend for making comments about white dogs being dumb but that's another story. >: ( We have a big trip planned to Indian Lake (near manistique) the first week of August with my family. I think we'll be bringing him if your in the neighborhood. Actually I need to check and make sure dogs are allowed. Would love to see pics of the new puppies coming. Give mom and dad a good scratch on the ears for us! Todd and Amy

Hi Dave, It has been a while since I've talked to you. Wrigley has been doing great, he's still quite the puppy and loves to play (and get in trouble). He's very loving and always wagging that tail of his. He's the kindest dog I've ever had. I've attached a picture of when he was about 4.5 months old from last hunting season...He looks a lot like his mom Jenny! Thanks, Mark

I have a few minutes so I will update you on Chance. He now weights 30 lbs. at just 4 months. Vet said he'll weigh between 55 and 60 lbs. when full grown. At 18 weeks he holds a point as long it is required, he retrieves anything, commands perfectly, and hunts better than Caddie (2 year old female) and most full grown dogs. He is awesome and that comes from a lot of different poeple. He is still mostly white and has the most laid back personality. He is a lover not a fighter. He has never had the hat used on him, he would rather die than to displease. He is now learning to cut a field and is ready for wild Quail which are just starting to appear. Weather has been beautiful with temperatures in the 60's. I had a professional trainer want to take Chance for 5 days a week, he would let us see him on weekends. He does field trials and is impressed with the dog and could use him. We thought only 5 minutes on that one, NO! Chance will compete against his dogs in December and January at different events here. We have been around and have owned hunting dogs all our lives and I want to thank you again for the finest dog we have ever owned. I should also tell you he is very loved and spoiled. Thanks, KH

Okie, my newest female. She will be wonderful.
Topic: Okie's Puppies
Okie comes to me from Gary Wente. She is from exceptional hunting stock. Her mother is a Llewellin champion and her father is "Highway Dan". Obviously with this background she can't miss. She will be a tall female, in the range of 45 pounds. AT 12 weeks, she has already shown sound instincts. She points solid on a wing, she learns quickly, and loves to spend outdoors. I am anxious to see what her PennHip score will be. I should have that within the next couple months. Watch for puppies from her in two years, you will be glad you did. Thanks Gary for a great little female!
